There's a unique opportunity to master the art of writing at a series of classes to be held at Ponteland library in the coming weeks.
Writer and novelist Wendy Robertson is running three sessions at the library on 24th February and 3rdand 10th March, each running from 10.30am to 3.30pm.
'I am inspired', 'I'd like to find my form!' and 'I speak as I find!' are the titles of the sessions which will help people interested in writing to find new ideas and insight for their work.
Wendy is a full time writer who has produced 24 novels, a book of short stories and a number of articles. She has been a writer in residence at a women's prison and mentors new writers and gives writing workshops across the North.
She gains her inspiration by travelling widely and also records and edits The Writing Game - her own community radio show which airs on Bishop FM.
Her latest venture is a hybrid memoir called 'The Romancer – on being a writer'. A unique mixture of memoir, original writing and novel extracts Wendy maps out her life in writing from early beginnings in a family struggling to survive, to the challenges and delights of making her living as a writer, writing a popular mainstream novel each year.
Councillor Jim Smith is executive member responsible for libraries at Northumberland County Council. He said: "It is fantastic to have a writer of Wendy's calibre sharing her expertise with Northumberland residents who are keen to develop their writing skills."
