Gollon Returns to Northumbria (Balman Gallery)

Hi there

We have a fantastic Chris Gollon exhibition coming up.

Chris Gollon is known for his epic paintings of the 14 Stations of the Cross in the Church of St John on Bethnal Green, which inspired Sara Maitland’s book Stations of the Cross. Chris’s work appeared in both the Hollywood Twilight film saga and was featured by Alan Yentob in his BBC1 Imagine programme. Chris Gollon has strong links to the North East of England: in 2009, he became a Fellow and First Artist in Residence at the Institute of Advanced Study, Durham University. He was invited to participate alongside leading global thinkers in the Being Human project, exploring what it means to be human in the 21st century. This is Chris’s first solo gallery exhibition in the NE, and he is delighted to exhibit in the region that has given him so much.

Best wishes

Margaret
